On Saturday, President Trump took to social media to float theories about convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s untimely suicide earlier that day. While not commenting on the suicide directly, the president shared a pair of tweets that alleged the Clinton family was involved in or somewhat responsible for Epstein’s death, claiming that former President Bill Clinton stood to gain from the death.
Trump first retweeted a post from @BreakingNLive, “Documents were unsealed yesterday revealing that top Democrats, including Bill Clinton, took private trips to Jeffrey Epstein’s “pedophilia island.”
Trump then retweeted a conspiracy theory from comedian Terrence K. Williams around Epstein’s death that used some of the day’s top trending hashtags on Twitter, such as #EpsteinSuicide, #ClintonBodyCount, #JefferyEpstein, and #TrumpBodyCount.
“Died of SUICIDE on 24/7 SUICIDE WATCH ? Yeah right! How does that happen#JefferyEpstein had information on Bill Clinton & now he’s dead. I see #TrumpBodyCount trending but we know who did this! RT if you’re not Surprised#EpsteinSuicide #ClintonBodyCount #ClintonCrimeFamily,” Williams wrote.

Epstein was previously charged with sex trafficking and abusing young girls but was found dead in his prison cell on Saturday morning after he allegedly hung himself.
His death occurred the morning after the first series of federal court documents of his case were unsealed. These documents showed Epstein’s relationship with Bill Clinton may have included more trips on his private jet than previously known.
The Washington Examiner reports counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway addressed Trump’s tweets, saying: “I think the president just wants everything to be investigated. There was some unsealed information implicating some people very high up.”
She also confirmed Attorney General William Barr has called for an investigation into the death.
“The attorney general took action immediately when he learned of the death of Jeffrey Epstein and there is an active investigation. I think those victims should have justice and they’ve been looking for justice for many, many years,” Conway said on “Fox News Sunday,” per the Washington Examiner.
“I think that this was the ultimate macabre final episode to a man who clearly was an evil monster doing terrible things to young girls,” she continued.
And, per the report:
Conway said that despite the millionaire financier’s death, his crimes and those linked to them will continue to be investigated.
“This seems to be very concrete in that Jeffery Epstein has done some very bad things over a number of years, and so let’s continue to investigate that,” she said. “I don’t think that somebody’s crimes and the accountability for that necessarily perishes with them.”
