Liberal Host Bill Maher Slams NYT for Ignoring Kavanaugh Assassination Attempt

Major news recently was the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. After Democrats urged activists to protest the court (a violation of federal law), abortionists organized demonstrations outside their homes. They even posted the addresses of justices and their families on the Internet.

What did they think was going to happen? A love-in? Some sick individual was arrested outside Kavanaugh’s home, armed with weapons and in possession of burglary tools. Considering he had made threats against the justice, it was clear what he was planning.

This is an ugly and disturbing turn of events, one of which Democrats should be ashamed. But the left-wing media refused to even cover the story. So, liberal HBO host Bill Maher let them have it.

Political commentator and comedian Bill Maher called out The New York Times Friday night for burying the story on the alleged assassination plot against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh…

“The New York Times buried this,” Maher said. “If this had been a liberal Supreme Court justice that someone came to kill, it would have been on the front page. And that’s what’s so disappointing about a paper like The New York Times, because they just wear their bias on their sleeves and they — ‘if it’s not part of something that feeds our narrative, f*** it. We bury it.’”

Maher’s criticism of the Times comes after several newspapers buried stories on Kavanaugh’s alleged would-be assassin. “Conservatives on social media were quick to point out Thursday morning that the front pages of the print editions of the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and USA Today did not highlight the incident above the fold or did not include the story at all,” The Daily Wire previously reported. How can a major newspaper—that once promised to cover “all the news that’s fit to print”—ignore an assassination attempt against a Supreme Court justice? Because, had they raised the alarm about this troubling news, perhaps readers would have felt sympathetic towards this conservative justice?

Perhaps Democrats would have felt guilty for siccing radical activists against the court. Maybe, just maybe, if the court does overturn Roe v. Wade, this story would have caused Americans to support the court, rather than hate it.

Instead, NYT buried the story, hoping their readers never hear about it. And if they do, they will assume it wasn’t a big deal—because it was buried.

How pathetic is that? Bill Maher is clearly no Republican. And he will probably be upset when the Supreme Court overturns Roe. But at least he’s decent enough to understand how unacceptable it is that someone threatened the life of a justice—and the lives of his family.

And he knows that the New York Times’ bias is so blatant, that it is tarnishing its reputation in real-time.

Few liberals, these days, are willing to see things that objectively. They have become so consumed with their radical agenda, that they seem to secretly applaud this heinous assassination attempt.
