House Dems Go Overboard With Major Gun Control Push

After the horrific events at Uvalde, TX, Democrats jumped to push politics. Not even giving the victims’ families a moment to grieve, the left demanded radical changes to our Second Amendment rights.

Joe Biden made wild, unfactual claims about gun ownership. As usual, he revealed he knows nothing about the subject and is just a talking head for the far left. So, we shouldn’t be surprised to learn that House Democrats, heedless of what Americans want, are pushing a massive gun control agenda.

Democrats are preparing a large gun control package to be considered in House Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

The package, dubbed, “Protecting Our Kids,” includes eight bills designed to erode citizens’ Second Amendment rights.

Reportedly included in the massive gun control package are provisions to ban high-capacity magazines, increase the purchase age of semi-automatics from 18 to 21, ban bump stocks for civilian use while requiring existing bump stocks to be registered with the government, change the definition of “ghost guns” so they fall under background checks at point of sale, increase penalties for gun trafficking, and mandate how Americans store firearms in their homes…

It seems likely the Democrats in the House may have enough votes to pass the package. A vote will reportedly be held next week on the litany of bills. If the package narrowly passes the House, it will move to the Senate, where it must survive a 60-vote, filibuster-proof threshold to pass the deliberative body. [Source: Breitbart]

Capitalizing on the recent shootings in Buffalo and Texas, House Democrats are rushing through a series of gun control bills. The eight bills contain drastic changes to Americans’ Second Amendment rights. Included will be a ban on “high-capacity” magazines, changing the age at which an American can buy a semi-automatic firearm, and rules controlling how an American stores their guns in their own homes.

I’d like to see how Democrats plan on enforcing that law. Do they intend to infiltrate gun owners’ homes to inspect their gun safes?

If you look over the content of these bills, none of them contain measures that will actually prevent mass shootings. There is nothing about providing safety measures in schools and public places. Nothing about increasing police funding. Nothing about addressing the mental health issues that result in shootings.

Instead, you’ll find a scattershot of random gun control measures Democrats have been trying to pass for years. Measures, I must remind you, limit Americans’ access and use of firearms—and do nothing to stop violent crime.

Once again, Democrats are trying to exploit a tragedy to push their far-left agenda. They are not interested in protecting children or schools. They are only hellbent on ripping guns from the hands of law-abiding citizens.

The only silver lining is that it is unlikely this bill will survive the Senate.
