He Can Run But He Can’t Hide — Cuomo Finally Gets What He Deserves

The drama surrounding disgraced Governor of New York finally resulted in the man’s downfall. An FBI investigation into his treatment of nursing home patients triggered an explosive sexual harassment scandal. The state’s attorney general conducted her own investigation, revealing in stark colors the extent of Cuomo’s treatment of female staff.

That investigation was the last straw. Pressure was mounting for the state to impeach the man, as at least one police department opened a criminal investigation. Perhaps to save some of his reputation, Cuomo announced his resignation.

But that doesn’t seem to be enough for New Yorkers. Without impeachment, Cuomo will still enjoy perks of being a former governor. And on top of that, it seems many people don’t like seeing an alleged serial harasser walk free. So, a new poll reveals a majority of them want him behind bars.

According to a new poll from Data for Progress, 52 percent of New York voters want soon-to-be-former Gov. Cuomo to face criminal charges for his alleged abuse of power while in office.

“Voters support Cuomo being charged with a crime by a 23-point margin, with 52% of voters in favor of Cuomo being criminally charged while 29% opposed criminal charges and 19% said they did not know,” reported Data for Progress. “78% of New York voters also say the AG’s report detailing Gov Cuomo’s sexual harassment is ‘somewhat’ or ‘very’ credible, and 63% of voters support legislators voting to impeach Cuomo.” [Source: Breitbart]

New Yorkers are a people that are quick to forgive and forget. They are most likely ashamed that a man they voted for had a reputation for mistreating women. Perhaps they were horrified to learn their “beloved” governor had “subjected women to unwanted kisses; groped their breasts or buttocks or otherwise touched them inappropriately; made insinuating remarks about their looks and their sex lives; and created a work environment ‘rife with fear and intimidation.”

Not a great look for a liberal who claims to support and “empower” women.

A majority of those polled agree that the report from the AG office was credible. Very few are even trying to ignore that bombshell report. Perhaps their support of impeaching or charging him are New Yorkers’ way of absolving their own guilt?

Cuomo’s fate as of now is uncertain. A criminal investigation out of Albany is still moving forward. While Cuomo did resign in disgrace, that doesn’t eliminate the reality that could have broken the law on numerous occasions.

Reports suggest that the state legislature has already dropped their impeachment push. It seems they got what they wanted with his resignation. But if Cuomo is truly guilty of everything the AG accused him of, then criminal charges should be just the beginning. The amount of mistreatment by Cuomo was staggering. And it stretched on over the course of years. If a CEO of a business did only a fraction of what he did, there would be no end of his problems.

I guess, when you’re a Democrat, you always get off.
