Biden’s administration claims it will return to Obama’s “pattern-or-practice investigations” and “consent decrees” to punish police for what it calls “systemic police misconduct.”
The campaign put out a declaration promoting the idea of “systemic racism” which is often used by protesters and rioters Claiming to respond to the the death of a man in police custody in Minneapolis. The statement demanded that America “confront racial and income-based disparities” and stop harsh sentencing.
Obama opened 25 of these types of investigations, while President Donald Trump only opened one. And consent decrees was called “one of the most dangerous exercises of power…by Trump’s first attorney general, Jeff Sessions.
This promise to return to Obama’s rule comes after several cities have experienced rioting following the death of George Floyd. Who, according to the medical examiner’s report, died of a heart attack. No evidence of asphyxiation was found but his death was ruled a homicide.
