Biden Bypasses Congress To Push Through This Radical Legislation

The fragmenting of the Democratic Party was on full display this week, after they failed to get enough votes to extend the eviction ban. Progressive socialists within the party (like the every-lovable AOC) protested on the steps of the Capitol, throwing hissy fits until Joe Biden stepped in.

The only problem? The Supreme Court had previously ruled that only Congress has the power to extend the policy. The White House had previously claimed they gave billions to the states to help struggling renters (where did that money go?)—and refused to intervene. Democrats slammed Nancy Pelosi, who didn’t bother to get the House to vote on it.

This is what the White House claimed, just a few days ago.

On Monday, the White House said that likely lacked Biden the authority to extend the emergency mandate…

Okay, it seems the White House was acknowledging that the CDC can’t just wave a magic wand and force landlords not to collect rent. In fact, Biden claimed that the economic downturn that triggered the eviction halt had ended.

Sure, sure. In the end, the president can’t defy the Supreme Court to please his radical base—oh, wait, he just did.

President Joe Biden reversed himself Tuesday, reinstating a ban on evicting renters who are behind on rent payments despite potential legal challenges…

Even though the Supreme Court clearly forbad the White House from extending this ban, Biden is ignoring their rule. Not only that, but he put into place ridiculous penalties for any landlord who wants to evict a negligent renter off their own property. They can face a fine of $250,000 and a year in jail.

Just think about what Biden just did. There are millions of landlords out there, whose entire income is dependent on their rental property. Yet the White House just said that deadbeat tenants who refuse to pay can’t be kicked out. This policy gives renters free rein. Who can stop them from ruining property, damaging apartments, or treating someone else’s home like garbage?

Nobody, that’s who.

It’s even more unthinkable, since the Supreme Court has already ruled that the administration does not have the authority to do this. Yes, Congress can prepare legislation and go through the legal channels to do so. But for Biden to do this shows a shocking disregard for the courts and the balance of power in the federal government.

We shouldn’t be surprised to learn that lawsuits will arise from this. Biden is hitting landlords with an incredible burden, in open defiance of the Supreme Court. There could be numerous companies and homeowners who are ready to fight.
