Biden Breaks Down As Opposition From His Own Party Reaches Uncharted Levels

Let’s be honest. Biden was never doing well. Don’t believe those “honeymoon” approval polls from the beginning of the year. He never had support from a majority of the country. Millions of Americans voted for Trump, a large group of them believed the election was rigged. And since that time, Biden has proven Trump supporters right, that he is a fool with zero leadership skills.

Things took a dramatic turn, however, during the Summer. Biden failed in his vaccine campaign, leading to a spike in COVID infections. But the worst came after Afghanistan, when Biden sat back and let the Taliban take over. He did nothing as people fell from airplanes or were blown up by ISIS. Not a great look.

He hasn’t recovered, largely thanks to his vaccine mandate and inability to address inflation, a worker shortage, or the supply chain backlog. Now, a new poll reveals what his own party thinks of him.

A poll released Monday shows that 44% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents want a Democratic nominee other than President Biden to run for the White House in 2024.

The results come amid sinking job-approval ratings for Biden, including those in the new national poll, by NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist.

The poll showed 44% of Americans approve of the job Biden is doing as president and 49% disapprove. The numbers compare to 45% approve/46% disapprove in the group’s October poll…

When those surveyed were asked the same question about former President Trump, 50% of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents said a Trump ticket has the best chance of recapturing the presidency, while 35% want someone else and 14% say they are unsure. [Source: Just the News]

Woah. Not great, Biden, not great. After less than one year in office, a majority of Democratic voters want someone else from the party to run. That’s a tremendous failure on Biden’s administration. They are doing so bad their own people don’t even want them.

Think back to the Republican primaries of 2020. Trump was winning by a landslide, even against a few challengers. That’s pretty normal. A president’s party is usually very motivated to re-elect him, especially as an incumbent. But 44% of Democrats want to pick someone else, come 2024—something we’ve never seen before.

Based on that number, if the primaries were held today, most Democrats would pick someone else to run for them. That’s brutal. The same poll (from very liberal-leaning NPR) said that 50% of Republicans wanted Trump and only 35% didn’t. Trump’s been out of office for almost a year, but his popularity continues to grow among conservatives and voters.

Biden, at the same time, has been in office. And he is losing ground everywhere. These aren’t just Democrats turning on him, but independents—a group he needs if he wants to succeed.

Other polls have revealed that independents are abandoning Biden like a sinking ship. They are leading the exodus of voters, as they watch Biden fail again and again. It’s hard to say how this will all shake out come election time. But we can’t predict things will go well for Democrats.
