Hakeem Jeffries Told Republicans to ‘F Around and Find Out’ — Then Virginia’s Supreme Court Made HIM Find Out

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries spent weeks doing a victory lap after Virginia Democrats rammed through a redistricting referendum designed to turn the state’s competitive 6-5 congressional map into a grotesque 10-1 Democrat gerrymander. Then the Virginia Supreme Court struck the whole thing down in a 4-3 ruling, and suddenly the guy who was talking trash has nothing to say.

Well, almost nothing. We’ll get to his tantrum in a second.

See, Jeffries got so cocky after the referendum narrowly passed last month that he decided to go full playground bully. His exact words, directed at Florida Republicans: “Our message to Florida Republicans is ‘F around and find out.’ If they go down the road of a DeSantis dummymander, Florida Republicans are going to find themselves in the same situation as Texas Republicans!”

Real classy stuff from the leader of the House minority. Very dignified. Very statesmanlike.

There’s just one tiny problem. Former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and other legal experts had been warning for weeks that the entire redistricting process violated Virginia’s Constitution — the timing was wrong, the notice requirements weren’t met, and the way the referendum question was framed to voters was, shall we say, creatively misleading. Democrats didn’t care. They had their 10-1 map. They were going to steal all 11 congressional seats from a state that literally just elected a Republican-aligned governor in Abigail Spanberger. Rules? Constitution? Details, details.

The Virginia Supreme Court disagreed.

Four justices looked at what Democrats tried to pull and said no. Not “maybe later.” Not “try again with better paperwork.” Just no. The whole referendum — gone. The 10-1 fantasy map — torched. Every single one of those 11 congressional seats is back in play under the old lines.

And here’s where it gets really fun.

After spending weeks running his mouth, Jeffries released a statement calling the court’s decision “an unprecedented and undemocratic action that cannot stand.” Unprecedented! The guy whose party tried to turn a 6-5 map into 10-1 is lecturing us about democracy. That’s like a bank robber complaining about the lack of security cameras.

Let’s be clear about what happened here. Virginia Democrats didn’t try to win more seats by running better candidates or appealing to more voters. They tried to redraw the lines so aggressively that Republicans literally couldn’t win. They wanted to erase the competition entirely. And when the court stepped in and said “that’s unconstitutional,” their response was to cry about democracy.

The Gateway Pundit’s Cullen Linebarger put it perfectly — this is a story about pride going before a fall. Jeffries couldn’t help himself. He had to talk trash. He had to make it personal. He had to dare Republicans to “find out.”

Well, Hakeem, someone found out alright. And it wasn’t the Republicans.

This is what happens every single time the left gets overconfident. They overreach. They assume the rules don’t apply to them. They start spiking the football on the 40-yard line. And then reality — in this case, four Virginia Supreme Court justices with a functioning understanding of the state constitution — shows up and reminds them that America still has guardrails.

The 6-5 map stands. The election will be competitive. And Hakeem Jeffries now has to explain to his caucus why he was popping champagne over a gerrymander that just got thrown in the garbage.

Maybe next time, keep your mouth shut until the ink is dry.
